NCERT Biology Class 11, Chapter 10, pp. 120–130 par based original companion text. Yeh NCERT se juda nahi hai aur NCERT ne ise endorse nahi kiya hai.

Tumhari shuruaat ek single cell se hui thi: ek fertilised egg jo lagbhag ek millimetre ke dasven hisse jitna chauda tha. Aaj tumhare body mein lagbhag 37 trillion cells hain, aur har ek cell usi pehle cell se division ke through aaya hai. Agar har division sirf count ko double karta, to lagbhag 45 rounds kaafi hote, kyunki 245≈3.5×1013. Asli development isse zyada uljha hua hai, cells alag-alag speed se divide hote hain aur kai cells tay samay par mar bhi jaate hain, lekin principle wahi rehta hai: ek organism un cells se banta hai jo baar-baar grow karte hain, apni copy banaate hain aur split hote hain.

Chapter 8 mein tumne jo cell theory padhi thi, woh kehti hai ki naye cells sirf pehle se maujood cells se hi bante hain. Yeh chapter poochta hai ki ek cell yeh kaise karta hai, bina apne genetic instructions ko khoye ya bigaade. Is sawaal ke jawab do tarah ke division hain: mitosis, jo aise daughter cells deta hai jo genetically parent jaise hote hain, aur meiosis, jo sexual reproduction ke cells banane ke liye chromosome number ko aadha kar deta hai.

10.1 Cell Cycle

Ek cell do working cells ban sake, usse pehle use teen kaam poore karne hote hain: grow karna (zyada cytoplasm, membranes aur organelles banana), apne DNA ki theek ek baar copy banana, aur sab kuch barabar baantna. Socho, agar cell replication poora hone se pehle hi split ho jaaye: to ek daughter ko toota hua genome milega. Agar woh do baar replicate kar le: to daughter ko extra copies mil jaayengi. Isliye yeh teen kaam ek timetable se chalte hain, aur yeh timetable khud cell ke apne genes tay karte hain.

Definition
Cell cycle

Ek dividing cell ki zindagi ka ek poora round: woh grow karta hai, apna DNA ek baar replicate karta hai aur phir do daughter cells mein split ho jaata hai.

ExampleCulture dish mein grow ho raha ek human cell lagbhag 24 ghante mein ek cycle poora karta hai.

Cell cycle mein ek asymmetry par dhyaan do. Poocho ki cell cytoplasm kab badhata hai, to jawab hai lagbhag hamesha; poocho ki woh DNA kab copy karta hai, to jawab hai sirf ek window mein, jise S kehte hain. Phir division ko har chromosome ki ek copy har daughter nucleus tak pahunchani hoti hai (Fig. 10.1).

2/5S mein DNA 2C se 4C ho jaata hai, yaani double. Chromosome number 2n hi rehta hai, aur centriole duplicate hota hai.

Fig. 10.1Culture mein ek typical human cell ke cycle ka ek chakkar (ghanton ki values typical hain, fixed nahi).NCERT Fig. 10.1 · p. 121

Left side par 24 ghante wali clock face jaisi ek ring chaar arcs mein baanti gayi hai: G1 (lagbhag 11 ghante), S (lagbhag 8 ghante), G2 (lagbhag 4 ghante) aur ek patla M arc (lagbhag 1 ghanta). Har step mein ek dark band ek arc ko highlight karta hai aur centre mein uska naam aur length dikhti hai. Right side par cell ka ek sketch aur do readouts badalte hain. G1 step mein ek chhote cell mein chaar single chromosomes hain, 2n aur 2C. S step mein cell bada hai, har chromosome mein ab do chromatids hain, do centrosomes hain, aur DNA 2C se 4C tak badhta hai. G2 step mein cell aur bhi bada hai, 2n aur 4C. M step mein do daughter cells dikhte hain, har ek 2n aur 2C. Aakhri step mein ek arrow G1 arc se nikal kar ek circle tak jaata hai jis par G0, quiescent likha hai: cell active hai lekin divide nahi ho raha.

10.1.1 Cell Cycle ke Phases

Cycle ki length mein bahut fark hota hai. Ek yeast cell lagbhag 90 minutes mein chakkar poora kar leta hai; culture dish mein grow ho rahe human cells ko lagbhag ek din lagta hai; aur ek hi body ke alag-alag tarah ke cells bilkul alag schedules follow karte hain.

Ek cultured human cell ki time-lapse film dekho to lagta hai ki woh din ke zyada hisse mein kuch khaas nahi karta, phir lagbhag ek ghante mein split ho jaata hai. Woh ek ghanta M phase (mitosis phase) hai. Ek M phase ke end se agle M phase ki shuruaat tak ka lamba hissa interphase hai. 24 mein se lagbhag 23 ghante wahin beette hain, isliye interphase cycle ka 95 % se zyada hissa leta hai.

M phase ke khud ke do parts hain. Pehle nucleus divide hota hai, aur alag hue daughter chromosomes do naye nuclei mein ikattha ho jaate hain: yeh karyokinesis hai (Greek karyon, yaani kernel ya nucleus, aur kinesis, yaani movement). Aam taur par uske baad cytoplasm do hisson mein kat jaata hai, jo cytokinesis hai (cyto-, yaani cell).

Isi dikhne wali susti ki wajah se interphase ko purana nickname resting phase mila. Yeh naam galat impression deta hai: interphase asal mein taiyaari ka samay hai, jab cell ek tay order mein grow karta hai aur apna DNA replicate karta hai. Iske teen sub-phases hain:

  • G1 (gap 1): pehle grow karo. Naya bana daughter cell chhota hota hai. Full metabolic speed par kaam karte hue woh proteins, organelles aur cytoplasm banata hai, jabki uska DNA bilkul waisa hi rehta hai: abhi koi replication nahi.
  • S (synthesis): genome copy karo. Har DNA molecule ek baar replicate hota hai, aur cell 2C se 4C ho jaata hai. Centromeres double nahi hote, isliye cell mein abhi bhi 2n chromosomes hote hain, aur ab har ek sister chromatids ka ek pair hai. Animal cell mein isi samay cytoplasm mein centriole bhi copy hota hai.
  • G2 (gap 2): mitosis ki taiyaari. Growth chalti rehti hai, aur cell woh proteins banata hai jo division ke liye chahiye honge.

Yahan do alag counts chal rahe hain, isliye unhe alag rakho. C ka matlab hai chromosomes ke ek haploid set mein DNA ki amount, isliye G1 mein ek diploid nucleus mein 2C hota hai. n chromosomes ko ginta hai, aur ek chromosome ko uske centromere se gina jaata hai. Replication C ko double karta hai, lekin koi naya centromere nahi jodta, isliye chromosome count wahi rehta hai (Fig. 10.2).

3/4Cytokinesis ise aadha kar deta hai: har daughter cell phir se 2C se shuru karta hai.

Fig. 10.2Ek cycle mein per cell DNA. Girawat sirf tab aati hai jab cytoplasm divide hota hai.

Per cell DNA (vertical axis par C, 2C, 4C) ka graph, phases G1, S, G2, M aur daughter cells ke G1 ke against. Pehle step mein line G1 mein 2C par flat rehti hai aur phir S ke dauraan dheere-dheere 4C tak chadhti hai, is note ke saath ki S DNA ko double karta hai. Doosre step mein line G2 aur poore M mein 4C par flat rehti hai. Teesre step mein yeh cytokinesis par seedhe 2C tak girti hai aur daughter cells mein wahin rehti hai. Aakhri step mein meiosis ki ek dashed line jodi jaati hai: yeh usi raaste se 4C tak jaati hai, meiosis I ke baad 2C tak aur meiosis II ke baad C tak girti hai, jo gametes ko mark karti hai.

Example 10.1

Samay kahan jaata hai?

Ek plant ke root-tip cell ka 22 ghante ka cycle hai jismein G1 (9 h), S (7 h), G2 (4.5 h) aur M (1.5 h) hain. (a) Cycle ka kitna percentage M phase hai? (b) Kitna percentage interphase hai? (c) Cell kitne fraction samay apna DNA replicate kar raha hota hai?

Pehle khud try karo. Phir solution ek-ek step karke kholo.

Cycle se bahar: quiescent stage (G0)

Ek surgeon kisi insaan ke liver ka ek hissa nikaal sakta hai aur organ wapas grow ho jaata hai, jabki pehle uske cells lagbhag divide hi nahi ho rahe the. To woh kahan the? Cycle ke bahar park kiye hue. Kuch cells, jaise adult heart ke muscle cells, lagta hai ki phir kabhi divide nahi hote; kai doosre cells tab tak intezaar karte hain jab tak body ko unki zaroorat na ho, jaise injury ya death se khoye cells ko replace karne ke liye.

Yeh parking place quiescent stage, G0, hai, jismein cell G1 se cycle chhod kar jaata hai. Park hone ka matlab band ho jaana nahi hai: G0 wala liver cell proteins banata rehta hai, glycogen store karta hai aur blood saaf karta hai. Woh bas tab tak multiply karna rok deta hai jab tak organism ki zaroorat use wapas na bulaaye.

Definition
Quiescent stage (G0)

Ek inactive stage jismein cell G1 se cycle chhod kar jaata hai; cell metabolically active rehta hai lekin tab tak divide nahi karta jab tak use cycle mein wapas aane ka signal na mile.

ExampleLiver cells G0 mein intezaar karte hain aur injury ke baad cycle mein wapas aa jaate hain.

Kaun se cells mitosis se divide ho sakte hain? Plants mein haploid aur diploid dono cells, jaisa unki alternating generations dikhati hain. Animals zyada strict hain: mitosis aam taur par sirf diploid somatic (body) cells tak seemit rehta hai. Male honey bee yeh rule todta hai, kyunki woh ek unfertilised egg se banta hai aur isliye poora haploid cells se bana hota hai, jo sab mitosis se bante hain.

Example 10.2NCERT p. 122

Pea root tip mein chromosomes aur DNA ginna

Garden pea ke root-tip cell mein 14 chromosomes hain (2n = 14), aur cytokinesis ke turant baad har daughter cell mein 2C DNA hota hai. Ek cell ke chromosomes ka number, chromatids ka number aur DNA content batao (a) G1 mein, (b) S ke end mein, (c) G2 mein, (d) metaphase par, (e) anaphase par, aur (f) cytokinesis ke baad har daughter cell mein.

Pehle khud try karo. Phir solution ek-ek step karke kholo.

Quick check
4 mein se 1
Ek cell ka DNA content abhi-abhi 2C se 4C hua hai. Usne abhi kaun sa phase poora kiya hai?
Answer dekho

Answer (B) S

DNA sirf S mein synthesise hota hai, isliye 2C se 4C tak ka rise S ke end ko mark karta hai. G2 chunne ka mann karta hai kyunki wahan cell 4C hota hai, lekin rise khud S mein hua tha.

10.2 M Phase

Biologists karyokinesis ko chaar naam wali stages mein baantte hain, prophase, metaphase, anaphase aur telophase, lekin cell kabhi rukta nahi. Yeh stages ek lagaataar chalti film se chune gaye frames jaisi hain: ek stage agli mein ghul jaati hai, aur har line kahan kheenchi jaaye yeh kuch had tak suvidha ki baat hai (Fig. 10.3).

Us ek ghante mein cell ka lagbhag har part reorganise hota hai. Chromatin compact chromosomes mein pack hota hai, nuclear envelope aur kai organelles toot jaate hain, ek spindle banta hai, aur phir sab kuch do baar dobara banaya jaata hai, har daughter mein ek baar. Har daughter ke paas aakhir mein theek parent jitna chromosome number hota hai, isiliye mitosis ko equational division kehte hain.

3/6Metaphase: sister kinetochores opposite poles se bandhe hote hain aur har chromosome metaphase plate par baitha hota hai.

Fig. 10.32n = 4 wale animal cell mein mitosis. Solid chromosomes mother se aaye, outlined wale father se.NCERT Fig. 10.2 · p. 123

Chromosomes ke do pairs wala ek oval animal cell, ek lamba aur ek chhota pair; mother se aaye chromosomes solid aur father se aaye outlined banaye gaye hain. Step 1, late interphase: ek gol nucleus mein dheele chromatin threads aur ek nucleolus hai, aur uske paas do centrosomes hain. Step 2, prophase: nuclear envelope dashed hai aur toot raha hai, andar do-do chromatids wale chaar condensed chromosomes hain, aur taare jaise asters wale centrosomes door ja rahe hain. Step 3, metaphase: envelope gayab ho chuka hai, centrosomes do poles par hain, aur chaar chromosomes ek vertical dashed metaphase plate par line mein hain, dono poles se kinetochore fibres ke saath. Step 4, anaphase: sister chromatids alag hokar opposite poles ki taraf jaate hain, centromere aage aur arms peeche V shape mein. Step 5, telophase: har group ke chaaron taraf naye nuclear envelopes bante hain aur cell surface par furrow banna shuru hota hai. Step 6, cytokinesis: do alag daughter cells, har ek mein ek nucleus.

10.2.1 Prophase

Socho ki ek lambe necklace ki do copies drawer mein aapas mein uljhi padi hain: S aur G2 ke baad har chromosome ka DNA aise hi pada hota hai. Dono copies maujood hain, lekin tum unhe alag se pehchaan nahi sakte. Prophase tab shuru hota hai jab cell is chromatin ko coil aur fold karna shuru karta hai, aur ise tightly pack karna hi ise suljhata bhi hai. Har chromosome ek chhoti, moti body ke roop mein saamne aata hai jiske do chromatids alag pehchaane ja sakte hain (Fig. 10.4).

Isi beech cytoplasm mein ek doosri taiyaari chalti hai. S mein bane do centrosomes cell ke opposite ends ki taraf khisakte hain, aur har ek ke chaaron taraf phailte microtubules ka ek starburst hota hai jise aster kehte hain. Unke beech spindle fibres grow karte hain, aur yeh poora assembly, do asters plus spindle, mitotic apparatus kehlata hai.

4/4Metaphase mein har kinetochore ko us pole ke fibres pakad lete hain jiski taraf woh mukh kiye hai.

Fig. 10.4Ek chromatid se anaphase ke liye taiyaar chromosome tak.NCERT p. 123

Centre mein ek single chromosome bada banaya gaya hai. Pehle step mein yeh ek lambi patli rod hai, beech mein dark centromere wala ek single chromatid, jis par one DNA molecule likha hai. Doosre step mein uske paas ek doosri identical rod dikhti hai: centromere par jude do sister chromatids, jin par identical copies likha hai. Teesre step mein yeh pair bahut chhota aur mota ho jaata hai, aur centromere ke dono taraf chhote dark kinetochore discs dikhte hain. Chauthe step mein patle spindle fibres bilkul left ke centrosome se left kinetochore tak aur bilkul right ke centrosome se right kinetochore tak jaate hain.

Prophase ke end tak microscope mein dekha gaya cell yeh dikhata hai:

  • compact chromosomes, har ek centromere par jude do chromatids se bana;
  • do centrosomes jo opposite poles ki taraf ja rahe hain ya pahunch chuke hain, har ek apne aster ke saath;
  • koi Golgi complex, endoplasmic reticulum, nucleolus ya nuclear envelope nahi.

10.2.2 Metaphase

Agar tum chromosomes ki photo lena chahte ho, to metaphase hi sahi waqt hai. Is samay woh sabse zyada condensed hote hain, cytoplasm mein phaile hote hain, aur koi nuclear envelope beech mein nahi aata, kyunki uska poori tarah tootna hi is stage ki shuruaat mark karta hai. Unka shape, size aur number abhi study karna sabse aasaan hai.

Har chromosome par ek tug-of-war socho. Ropes spindle fibres hain aur handles kinetochores hain, yaani centromere ki surface par chhote discs, har sister chromatid ka ek, aur dono ulti dishaon mein mukh kiye. Jab ek pole ke fibres ek handle pakad lete hain aur doosre pole ke fibres doosra handle, to kheenchaav tabhi balance hota hai jab chromosome dono poles ke theek beech mein ho. Isliye chromosomes spindle ke equator ke aar-paar ek hi plane par, agal-bagal baith jaate hain: yahi metaphase plate hai.

Definition
Kinetochore

Centromere ki surface par ek chhota disc jaisa structure, har chromatid par ek, jisse spindle fibres judte hain.

ExampleMetaphase mein ek chromosome ke dono kinetochores opposite poles ki taraf mukh kiye hote hain.

Definition
Metaphase plate

Spindle ke equator par woh plane jis par metaphase mein chromosomes line mein lagte hain.

To agar har chromosome dono taraf se bandha hai aur poora set cell ke beech mein ek line mein baitha hai, to tum metaphase dekh rahe ho.

10.2.3 Anaphase

Anaphase shuru karne ka signal har chromosome tak ek saath pahunchta hai: saare centromeres ek saath split hote hain. Us pal se har purana chromatid apne aap mein ek chromosome gina jaata hai, yaani daughter chromosome, aur use us pole ki taraf kheencha jaata hai jiski taraf uska kinetochore mukh kiye hai. Kinetochore aage chalta hai aur arms bina zor lagaye peeche chalte hain, jisse har chalta chromosome V ya J shape mein mud jaata hai jiski nok pole ki taraf hoti hai.

Ek quick test: chromosomes ke do milte-julte groups jo door ja rahe hain, aur abhi koi nuclear envelope nahi, matlab anaphase.

10.2.4 Telophase

Telophase, karyokinesis ki aakhri stage, prophase ko ulta chalata hai. Har pole par chromosomes ikattha hote hain aur khul kar chromatin ban jaate hain, aur unki alag outlines kho jaati hain. Har group ke chaaron taraf nuclear envelope dobara banta hai, jisse do daughter nuclei milte hain, aur nucleolus, Golgi complex aur endoplasmic reticulum, jo prophase mein gayab ho gaye the, wapas aa jaate hain.

  3. Centromeres split hote hain
  4. Nuclei dobara bante hain
Condensation prophase shuru karta hai; envelope ka poori tarah tootna metaphase ki shuruaat mark karta hai; anaphase ki shuruaat mein centromeres split hote hain; telophase mein naye nuclei bante hain.

10.2.5 Cytokinesis

Karyokinesis ke baad ek hi cell ke andar do nuclei reh jaate hain. Division tabhi poora hota hai jab cytoplasm bhi cytokinesis se split ho jaaye. Animal aur plant cells yeh ulti dishaon mein karte hain (Fig. 10.5).

Animal cell waise hi divide hota hai jaise tum aate ki loi ko dhaage ke loop se kaatte ho: woh apne beech mein ek ring kasta hai. Yeh ring, jo flexible plasma membrane ke theek neeche actin aur myosin filaments se bani hoti hai, sikudti hai aur membrane ko andar ki taraf kheench kar ek cleavage furrow banati hai, jab tak cell do hisson mein na bhinch jaaye.

Plant cell ek aisi wall mein band hota hai jo mushkil se khinchti hai, isliye use dabakar do hisson mein nahi kiya ja sakta. Iske bajaay woh andar se apna partition banata hai. Daughter nuclei ke theek beech mein ek cell plate banti hai aur side mein phailti jaati hai jab tak uske kinare purani walls se jud na jaayein. Yeh plate aage chalkar middle lamella banti hai, yaani do naye padosi cells ki walls ke beech ki cementing layer.

2/3Animal cell ka furrow andar ki taraf gehra hota hai; plant ki cell plate bahar ki taraf badhti hai.

Left mein ek animal cell: pehle step mein yeh do nuclei wala ek single oval hai; doosre mein outline upar aur neeche se andar bhinchi hui hai, aur arrows dikhate hain ki furrow andar ki taraf ja raha hai; teesre mein do alag oval cells hain. Right mein ek rectangular green wall ke andar plant cell: pehle step mein isme do nuclei hain aur koi partition nahi; doosre mein beech mein ek chhoti dark plate dikhti hai, jiske arrows upar aur neeche side walls ki taraf point karte hain; teesre mein plate poore cell mein phail kar walls se mil jaati hai, aur us par likha hai ki yeh middle lamella banti hai.

Definition
Cell plate

Divide hote plant cell ke beech mein banne wala partition jo bahar ki taraf side walls tak badhta hai; yeh do daughter cells ke beech middle lamella ban jaata hai.

Har daughter ko apne hisse ke mitochondria aur plastids bhi lekar jaane hote hain. Yeh organelles shuru se assemble nahi kiye ja sakte: yeh khud grow aur divide karte hain, isliye har naye cell ko kuch virasat mein milne chahiye.

Cytokinesis hamesha karyokinesis ke baad nahi aata. Jab nuclei divide hote rehte hain lekin cytoplasm nahi, to result hota hai kai nuclei wala cytoplasm ka ek single mass, yaani syncytium. Tumne iska swaad chakha hai: kachche nariyal ka paani liquid endosperm hai, ek aisa cytoplasm jismein kai free nuclei hain aur unke beech koi cell walls nahi.

Definition

Divide hote plant cell mein naya partition kahan se banna shuru hota hai?
Answer dekho

Answer (A) Cell ke centre mein, bahar ki taraf badhta hua

Cell plate daughter nuclei ke beech, centre mein shuru hoti hai, aur bahar ki taraf side walls se milne tak badhti hai. Surface se andar ki taraf badhna animal cell ka furrow hai.

10.3 Mitosis ka Mahatva

Mitosis, yaani equational division, zyaadatar diploid cells mein hota hai. Lekin yeh sirf unhi tak seemit nahi hai: kuch lower plants ke haploid cells, aur bees jaise social insects ke haploid cells bhi isi tarah divide hote hain. Yeh jahan bhi ho, iska defining result ek hi hai: parent jitne chromosome number aur same genetic information wale do daughter cells. Yahi ek property mitosis ko kai tarah se useful banati hai:

  • Growth. Ek multicellular body mainly cells jod kar grow karti hai: baar-baar mitosis se zygote embryo banta hai aur phir adult.
  • Nucleo-cytoplasmic ratio wapas laana. Jaise-jaise cell grow karta hai, uska cytoplasm badhta hai lekin nucleus utni tezi se nahi badhta, isliye ek nucleus ko lagaataar bade volume ko control karna padta hai. Divide hone se nucleus aur cytoplasm ke beech balance wapas aata hai (Fig. 10.6).
  • Repair aur replacement. Skin ke sabse bahari cells, gut ki lining ke cells aur blood cells lagaataar ghis kar khatam hote rehte hain, aur mitosis naye cells deta hai; ghaav bhi isi tarah bharta hai.
  • Plants ki zindagi bhar growth. Meristems mitosis se divide hote rehte hain: root aur shoot tips ke apical meristems plant ko lamba karte hain, aur lateral meristems (cambium) use mota karte hain, isliye plants poori zindagi grow karte rehte hain.

2/3Growth ke baad wahi nucleus kahin zyada cytoplasm sambhalta hai.

Fig. 10.6Growth nucleus ka hissa ghata deti hai; division balance wapas laata hai.

Pehle step mein ek chhote gol cell ke centre mein nucleus hai, aur ek readout nucleus aur cytoplasm ka ratio lagbhag 1 to 3 batata hai (drawing mein area ke hisaab se). Doosre step mein wahi cell bahut bada ho gaya hai jabki uska nucleus same size ka hai, aur ratio gir kar lagbhag 1 to 7 ho gaya hai. Teesre step mein cell do cells mein divide ho gaya hai, har ek original young cell ke size ka aur same size ke nucleus wala, aur har ek wapas lagbhag 1 to 3 par hai.

Answer
  • (A) Chhile hue ghutne ka theek hona
  • (C) Cambium se mango trunk ka mota hona
  • (D) Gut ki lining ke cells ka replace hona
Wound healing, cambial growth aur gut lining ka renewal sab mitosis se identical cells jodte hain. Sperms meiosis se bante hain, jo chromosome number ko aadha karta hai.

10.4 Meiosis

Sexual reproduction do gametes ko jodta hai. Agar har gamete mein poora diploid set hota, to har generation mein chromosome number double ho jaata: tumhare parents mein 46, tum mein 92, tumhare bachchon mein 184. Nature ise ek special division se rokti hai jo gametes bante samay chromosome number ko aadha kar deta hai. Woh division meiosis hai. Yeh sirf specialised diploid cells mein hota hai aur haploid daughter cells banata hai.

Definition
Meiosis

Specialised diploid cells ka ek division jismein DNA replication ke ek round ke baad do divisions hote hain, aur chaar haploid cells bante hain; ise reduction division bhi kehte hain.

ExampleTestis mein meiosis haploid sperms banata hai.

Life cycle ko do switches wale ek loop ki tarah socho. Ek switch, meiosis, cells ko diploid se haploid kar deta hai; doosra, fertilisation, unhe wapas palat deta hai. Plants aur animals dono pehla switch gametes banate samay dabaate hain, yaani gametogenesis ke dauraan.Flowering plants mein meiosis pehle haploid spores (microspores aur megaspores) banata hai, jo phir mitosis se gametes banate hain. Class 12, Chapter 1 mein ise detail mein padhoge.

Meiosis chaar numbers mein:

  • 1 round DNA replication ka, meiosis shuru hone se pehle wale S phase mein, isliye har chromosome meiosis I mein do sister chromatids ke roop mein aata hai;
  • 2 divisions ek ke baad ek, meiosis I aur meiosis II, unke beech koi replication nahi;
  • 2 homologues har pairing mein: har chromosome ki maternal aur paternal copies pair banati hain aur apne non-sister chromatids ke beech segments exchange karti hain;
  • 4 haploid cells meiosis II ke end mein.

Har division jaani-pehchaani chaar stages se guzarta hai, jin par I ya II ka tag hota hai: pehle division mein prophase I, metaphase I, anaphase I aur telophase I, aur doosre mein prophase II, metaphase II, anaphase II aur telophase II (Fig. 10.7).

3/3Meiosis II sister chromatids ko alag karta hai: chaar cells, har ek n aur C.

Fig. 10.7Ek replication, do divisions, chaar haploid cells.

Pehle step mein left side par ek cell mein chaar replicated chromosomes hain, ek lamba aur ek chhota pair, do mother se (solid) aur do father se (outlined), jin par 2n, 4C, after S likha hai. Doosre step mein meiosis I label wale arrows do cells tak jaate hain, yaani ek dyad, jismein har cell mein ek lamba aur ek chhota chromosome hai jinmein abhi bhi do-do chromatids hain, label n, 2C. Teesre step mein meiosis II label wale arrows inmein se har ek se do cells tak jaate hain, aur right side par chaar chhote cells bante hain, har ek mein ek lamba aur ek chhota single-chromatid chromosome, label n, C each. Crossing over nahi dikhaya gaya hai.

10.4.1 Meiosis I

Prophase I lamba aur ghatnaon se bhara hota hai, mitosis ke prophase se kahin zyada. Chromosomes kya karte hain yeh dekh kar cytologists ise paanch sub-stages mein baantte hain: leptotene, zygotene, pachytene, diplotene aur diakinesis (Fig. 10.8). Greek roots inhe yaad rakhne mein madad karte hain: lepto- patla, zygo- juda hua (yoked), pachy- mota, diplo- double, aur dia-kinesis alag hona.

3/5Pachytene: chaar chromatids dikhte hain; recombination nodule par non-sister chromatids cross over karte hain.

Fig. 10.8Ek homologous pair mein prophase I. Solid = mother se, outlined = father se.NCERT p. 126

Nucleolus wale ek oval nucleus ke andar ek homologous pair banaya gaya hai; maternal chromosome solid hai aur paternal outlined. Leptotene: do lambe patle lehrate threads ek doosre se door pade hain. Zygotene: threads agal-bagal hain aur left hisse mein seedhi jaisi rungs, yaani synaptonemal complex, se jude hain, jabki unke right ends abhi alag hain. Pachytene: pair poori tarah juda hai aur chaar chromatids dikhte hain; ek point par do andar wale, non-sister chromatids cross karte hain aur segments exchange karte hain, jise ek ring, yaani recombination nodule, se mark kiya gaya hai. Diplotene: homologues mud kar alag hote hain lekin wahan jude rehte hain jahan chromatids cross karte hain, ek X-shaped chiasma. Diakinesis: chromosomes chhote aur mote hain, chiasma unke ends tak khisak gaya hai, nucleolus gayab ho gaya hai aur nuclear envelope dashed hai, yaani toot raha hai.

Leptotene. Nucleus mein patle threads bhar jaate hain: chromosomes itne condense ho chuke hote hain ki light microscope se dikh sakein, aur stage aage badhne ke saath aur compact hote jaate hain.

Zygotene. Har chromosome apne partner ko dhoondhta hai, yaani doosre parent se mila homologue, aur dono agal-bagal zip ki tarah jud jaate hain. Is zipping ko synapsis kehte hain, aur khud zip, jo sirf electron microscope se dikhta hai, proteins ki ek seedhi jaisi structure hai jise synaptonemal complex kehte hain. Ek zipped pair ek unit gina jaata hai, yaani bivalent; ise tetrad bhi kehte hain, haalaanki iske chaar chromatids pachytene mein hi aasaani se dikhte hain.

Pachytene. Yeh lambi aur busy stage hai; iske comparison mein leptotene aur zygotene chhoti hain. Bivalent ab saaf taur par apne chaar chromatids dikhata hai, har homologue ke do. Jagah-jagah pair par chhote dense recombination nodules baithe hote hain, aur har ek ek crossing over ko mark karta hai: ek maternal aur ek paternal chromatid (non-sister chromatids) ek hi point par tootte hain aur ek doosre ke tukdon se jud jaate hain. Yeh cut-and-rejoin ek enzyme, recombinase, karta hai. Kyunki exchange hue tukdon mein genes ke alag versions hote hain, crossing over dono homologues ke genetic material ko recombine karta hai. Pachytene ke end tak exchanges poore ho jaate hain, aur jahan-jahan exchange hua tha wahan homologues bandhe reh jaate hain.

Definition
Bivalent (tetrad)

Prophase I mein synapsed homologous chromosomes ka ek pair; isme chaar chromatids hote hain.

Example2n = 20 wala cell pachytene mein 10 bivalents dikhata hai.

Definition
Crossing over

Pachytene mein homologous chromosomes ke non-sister chromatids ke beech matching segments ka exchange, jise enzyme recombinase catalyse karta hai.

Diplotene. Protein zip khul jaata hai aur dono homologues alag hone lagte hain. Woh poori tarah alag nahi ho paate, kyunki jahan bhi crossing over hua tha wahan woh abhi bhi bandhe hain; har bandhan ek X ki tarah dikhta hai, yaani chiasma (plural chiasmata). Diplotene hamesha chhota nahi hota: kuch vertebrates ke egg banane wale cells (oocytes) mein yeh mahinon ya saalon tak chalta hai. Human oocyte ladki ke janm se pehle hi diplotene tak pahunch jaata hai aur kai saal baad us egg ke ovulate hone se thoda pehle tak wahin rehta hai.

Definition
Chiasma (plural chiasmata)

Ek X-shaped point jahan diplotene mein homologous chromosomes jude rehte hain, jo us jagah ko mark karta hai jahan crossing over hua tha.

Diakinesis. Ab chiasmata arms ke saath-saath chromosome ends ki taraf khisakte hain, is movement ko terminalisation kehte hain, aur chromosomes maximum compaction tak pahunchte hain. Cell division ke liye raasta saaf karta hai: nucleolus gayab ho jaata hai, nuclear envelope toot jaata hai aur homologues ko alag kheenchne ke liye ek meiotic spindle banta hai. Isliye diakinesis seedhe metaphase I mein badal jaata hai.

Metaphase I. Bivalents equatorial plate par line mein lagte hain. Dono poles se aane wale spindle microtubules dono homologous chromosomes ke kinetochores se judte hain, har pole se ek homologue (Fig. 10.9). Mitosis se compare karo, jahan ek chromosome ke do sister chromatids opposite poles se bandhe hote hain.

Anaphase I. Ab poore homologues alag kheenche jaate hain, har pair ka ek-ek har pole ki taraf. Koi centromere split nahi hota, isliye jaane wala har chromosome apne dono sister chromatids saath rakhta hai, aur har pole par chromosome count aadha ho jaata hai. Yahi step meiosis ko reduction division banata hai.

Telophase I. Do naye nuclei bante hain, har ek apne nucleolus ke saath, aur cell aam taur par divide hokar do cells wala dyad deta hai. Chromosomes thode dheele padte hain, lekin interphase nucleus ki tulna mein kahin zyada compact rehte hain.

2/3Anaphase I: homologues alag hote hain; centromeres split nahi hote, isliye sisters saath rehte hain.

Fig. 10.9Meiosis I homologues ko alag karta hai, sister chromatids ko nahi.NCERT Fig. 10.3 · p. 127

Do poles ke beech spindle wale ek oval cell mein do bivalents hain, ek lamba aur ek chhota; maternal chromosomes solid hain aur paternal outlined. Telophase I: cell do cells mein divide ho gaya hai, ek dyad, har ek mein ek nucleus jismein do chromatids wala ek lamba aur ek chhota chromosome hai.

Dono divisions ke beech interkinesis aata hai, jo aam taur par chhota hota hai. Interphase ke ulat, isme koi S phase nahi hota, isliye DNA dobara copy nahi hota, aur yahi meiosis II ko DNA content ek baar aur aadha karne deta hai. Uske baad aane wala prophase II, prophase I ki tulna mein chhota aur simple hota hai.

10.4.2 Meiosis II

Meiosis II dyad ke dono cells ka mitosis jaisa division hai (Fig. 10.10):

  • Prophase II. Beech mein lagbhag koi pause nahi hota: prophase II pehle cytokinesis ke turant baad shuru ho jaata hai, aksar jab chromosomes abhi bhi kuch had tak condensed hote hain. Woh phir se poori tarah compact hote hain, aur is stage ke end tak nuclear membrane gayab ho jaati hai.
  • Metaphase II. Chromosomes ek naye spindle ke equator par ikattha hote hain, aur har sister chromatid ke kinetochore ko us pole ke microtubules pakad lete hain jiski taraf woh mukh kiye hai.
  • Anaphase II. Saare centromeres ek saath split hote hain, aur sister chromatids alag ho jaate hain. Har ek ko apne pole ki taraf kheencha jaata hai jaise-jaise uske kinetochore se jude microtubules chhote hote hain.
  • Telophase II. Chromosomes ke chaar groups ke chaaron taraf nuclear envelopes bante hain, aur cytokinesis do cells ko chaar haploid cells ke ek tetrad mein badal deta hai.

3/4Anaphase II: centromeres split hote hain aur sister chromatids alag ho jaate hain.

Fig. 10.10Meiosis II sister chromatids ko alag karta hai, bilkul mitosis ki tarah.NCERT Fig. 10.4 · p. 128

Do oval cells agal-bagal, har ek mein do chromatids wala ek lamba aur ek chhota chromosome; har cell mein ek lambe chromatid ki tip crossing over ki wajah se doosre colour ki hai. Prophase II: chromosomes ek dashed, tootte nuclear envelope ke andar tirchhe pade hain, aur har pole par ek centrosome hai. Metaphase II: har cell mein dono chromosomes equator par khade hain, aur dono poles ke fibres dono sister chromatids ke kinetochores se jude hain. Anaphase II: sister chromatids alag ho gaye hain aur V shapes mein opposite poles ki taraf ja rahe hain. Telophase II: chaar chhote cells, har ek mein ek nucleus jismein ek lamba aur ek chhota single chromatid hai, har ek par n mark kiya hai.

10.5 Meiosis ka Mahatva

Ek paheli hai. Isliye meiosis hi woh cheez hai jo sexually reproduce karne wali species ki generations mein chromosome number constant rakhti hai; iske bina number har baar double ho jaata.

Meiosis genes ko shuffle bhi karta hai, isliye population ki har generation seedhi copying ki tulna mein zyada varied hoti hai. Pachytene mein crossing over maternal aur paternal genes ke naye mixtures wale chromatids banata hai. Metaphase I mein har bivalent baaki bivalents se independently line mein lagta hai, isliye gamete ko maternal aur paternal homologues ka koi bhi mixture mil sakta hai (Fig. 10.12). Phir random fertilisation do aise gametes ko milata hai. Variation evolution ka raw material hai; Class 12, Chapter 4 iski genetics ko explore karta hai.

2/3Agar chhota pair ulti taraf se line mein lagta hai, to gametes mixed hote hain.

Do sikke jinhe tum ek baar ya 10, 100 ya 1000 ke batches mein uchhalte ho. Ek bar chart dikhata hai ki har result, HH, HT, TH aur TT, kitni baar aaya, uski theoretical probability ek-chauthai ke saath. Har sikka metaphase I par line mein lagte ek bivalent ko darshata hai, isliye chaar results do chromosome pairs se bane chaar tarah ke gametes hain, aur ek readout HH ka share track karta hai, yaani dono maternal chromosomes wale gametes.

  2. Short answerMediumNCERT Exercises Q2

Kachche nariyal ke paani mein kai free nuclei hain lekin unke beech koi walls nahi. Is example se karyokinesis aur cytokinesis ka fark samjhao.

    Solution dikhao

AnswerKaryokinesis nucleus ko divide karta hai; cytokinesis cytoplasm ko divide karta hai. Nariyal paani mein sirf karyokinesis hua hai.

Karyokinesis nucleus ka division hai: alag hue daughter chromosomes do daughter nuclei mein ikattha hote hain (prophase se telophase). Cytokinesis uske baad hone wala cytoplasm ka division hai, animal cells mein furrow se ya plant cells mein cell plate se, taaki har nucleus apne khud ke cell mein pahunch jaaye.

Nariyal paani mein nuclei baar-baar divide hue hain, lekin cytoplasm nahi, isliye kai nuclei ek hi cytoplasm share karte hain: yaani syncytium. Isliye yeh dono processes alag events hain jo aam taur par, lekin hamesha nahi, ek ke baad ek hote hain.

  3. Long answerEasyNCERT Exercises Q3

Interphase ko aksar 'resting phase' kaha jaata hai. Batao ki cell G1, S aur G2 mein se har ek mein kya karta hai, aur samjhao ki yeh naam galat impression kyun deta hai.

    Solution dikhao
    • G1: cell metabolically active hota hai aur grow karta hai; woh proteins banata hai aur zyaadatar organelles duplicate karta hai, lekin DNA replicate nahi karta (2n, 2C).
    • S: DNA replicate hota hai, isliye per cell DNA 2C se double hokar 4C ho jaata hai jabki chromosome number 2n rehta hai; animal cells mein centriole duplicate hota hai.
    • G2: growth chalti rehti hai aur mitosis ke liye zaroori proteins bante hain (2n, 4C).

Interphase woh samay hai jab cell grow karke aur apna DNA ek order mein copy karke division ki taiyaari karta hai. Yeh cycle ka sabse busy hissa hai, jo human cell mein 95 % se zyada samay leta hai, isliye resting ka matlab sirf itna hai ki koi division dikhta nahi.

  4. Short answerMediumNCERT Exercises Q4

G0 stage kya hai? Ek liver cell, jo liver ka hissa surgery se nikaalne ke baad phir se divide karna shuru kar deta hai, aur ek mature heart muscle cell ki tulna karo.

    Solution dikhao

AnswerG0 (quiescent stage) G1 se aane wali ek inactive, divide na hone wali lekin metabolically active stage hai.

Divide karna band karne wale cells G1 se cycle chhod kar quiescent stage, G0 mein jaate hain. Woh metabolically active rehte hain aur apna normal kaam karte hain, lekin jab tak organism ko unki zaroorat na ho, woh proliferate nahi karte.

Liver cell G0 mein baitha rehta hai lekin use cycle mein wapas bulaaya ja sakta hai, jaise khoye hue tissue ko replace karne ke liye, isliye liver dobara grow ho sakta hai. Adult heart muscle cells mein lagbhag koi division nahi hota, isliye heart attack mein khoya heart tissue naye muscle cells se replace nahi hota.

  5. Short answerMediumNCERT Exercises Q5

Samjhao ki mitosis ko equational division kyun kehte hain. Jab drone bee ka ek haploid cell mitosis se divide hota hai, kya tab bhi yeh term laagu hoga?

    Solution dikhao

AnswerHaan: daughters mein hamesha parent jitna hi chromosome number hota hai, drone mein n → n.

Mitosis mein har chromosome ke do sister chromatids dono poles ki taraf barabar baante jaate hain, isliye har daughter cell ko parent jitne aur waise hi chromosomes milte hain: division equational hai.

Yeh term equality par depend karta hai, ploidy par nahi. Ek haploid drone cell (n) do haploid daughters (n) deta hai, isliye division phir bhi equational hai.

      Answer (D) Pachytene

Crossing over pachytene mein recombination nodules par hota hai; chiasmata diplotene mein dikhne lagte hain.
  7. DiagramMediumNCERT Exercises Q7

Homologous chromosomes ke ek pair ki madad se neeche diye terms samjhao. Phir zygotene aur diplotene mein is pair ka sketch banao, aur sister chromatids, non-sister chromatids aur ek chiasma ko label karo.

    1. Synapsis

      Solution dikhao

Prophase I ke zygotene mein homologous chromosomes ka apni poori length mein pair banna, jise synaptonemal complex jode rakhta hai.

    2. Bivalent

      Solution dikhao

Homologous chromosomes ka ek synapsed pair. Kyunki har homologue mein do chromatids hote hain, bivalent mein chaar chromatids hote hain aur ise tetrad bhi kehte hain; yeh pachytene mein sabse saaf dikhta hai.

    3. Chiasma

      Solution dikhao

Ek X-shaped point jahan synaptonemal complex ghulne ke baad diplotene mein homologues jude rehte hain; yeh non-sister chromatids ke beech crossing over ki jagah ko mark karta hai. Diakinesis mein chiasmata chromosomes ke ends ki taraf khisak jaate hain (terminalisation).

    4. Tumhare do sketches mein kya dikhna chahiye?

      Solution dikhao

Zygotene: do lambe homologues agal-bagal pade hain aur apni length ke kuch hisse mein seedhi jaisi rungs (synaptonemal complex) se jude hain. Diplotene: har homologue ab saaf double dikhta hai (do sister chromatids), dono homologues mud kar alag hain lekin wahan jude hain jahan do non-sister chromatids X ki tarah cross karte hain, yaani chiasma.

  8. Short answerEasyNCERT Exercises Q8

Ek slide par tumhe late telophase mein do cells milte hain. Ek mein cell ke beech se ek dark line bahar ki taraf badh rahi hai; doosre mein cell ki outline dono taraf se andar bhinchi hui hai. Plant cell kaun sa hai? Cytoplasm ko divide karne ke dono tarike samjhao aur batao ki woh alag kyun hain.

    Solution dikhao

AnswerJis cell mein beech se line badh rahi hai, woh plant cell hai.

Animal cell: plasma membrane mein ek cleavage furrow banta hai aur andar ki taraf gehra hota jaata hai jab tak centre mein mil na jaaye, aur cytoplasm do hisson mein baant deta hai.

Plant cell: rigid, na khinchne wali wall ko bhincha nahi ja sakta, isliye nayi wall andar se banti hai: centre mein ek cell plate banti hai aur bahar ki taraf badh kar side walls se jud jaati hai. Yeh do daughter cells ke beech middle lamella ban jaati hai.

To animal cells mein cytokinesis bahar se andar ki taraf chalta hai aur plant cells mein andar se bahar ki taraf (centrifugally).

  9. Short answerMediumNCERT Exercises Q9

Ek example do jismein meiosis se bane chaar cells barabar size ke hon aur ek jismein barabar na hon. Batao ki unequal split kyun useful ho sakta hai.

    Solution dikhao

Barabar: spermatogenesis, jahan ek primary spermatocyte chaar milte-julte spermatids deta hai jo sperms ban jaate hain; anther mein pollen tetrad ke chaar microspores bhi.

Unequal: humans aur doosre animals mein oogenesis, jahan divisions se ek bada ovum aur bahut chhote polar bodies bante hain.

Unequal split se ek cell, yaani egg, lagbhag saara cytoplasm aur stored food apne paas rakh leta hai, jo early embryo ko chahiye, jabki polar bodies bas extra chromosome sets ko le jaati hain.

  11. Long answerMediumNCERT Exercises Q11

Mitosis aur meiosis ka feature-by-feature comparison banao.

    Solution dikhao
    • Mitosis somatic cells (haploid ya diploid) mein hota hai; meiosis sirf un specialised diploid cells mein jo gametes ya spores banate hain.
    • Mitosis mein ek division hota hai; meiosis mein ek hi DNA replication ke baad do (meiosis I aur II).
    • Mitosis ka prophase chhota aur simple hota hai; prophase I lamba hota hai, paanch sub-stages, synapsis aur crossing over ke saath.
    • Mitosis ke metaphase mein single chromosomes line mein lagte hain; metaphase I mein bivalents line mein lagte hain.
    • Mitosis ke anaphase mein centromeres split hote hain aur chromatids alag hote hain; anaphase I mein homologues alag hote hain aur centromeres split nahi hote.
    • Mitosis parent jitne chromosome number aur identical genes wale do cells deta hai; meiosis chaar haploid cells deta hai jo genetically alag hote hain.
    • Mitosis growth, repair aur replacement ke kaam aata hai; meiosis gamete formation, chromosome number ki constancy aur variation ke kaam aata hai.
  12. Short answerMediumNCERT Exercises Q12

    Solution dikhao

    Answer28, 56 aur 112.

    Har generation ke gametes mein parent ka poora number hota: pehli generation mein 14 + 14 = 28, doosri mein 28 + 28 = 56 aur teesri mein 56 + 56 = 112.

Meiosis is doubling ko rokta hai: gametes mein number aadha karke woh species ka chromosome number generations tak constant rakhta hai. Yeh crossing over aur bivalents ke independent lining-up se genetic variation bhi paida karta hai, aur yahi variation evolution ka raw material hai.

  13. Short answerMediumNCERT Exercises Q13

Apne teacher ki madad se pata karo:

    1. Aise insects aur lower plants ke examples jinmein haploid cells divide hote hain.

      Solution dikhao

Insects: honey bees, ants aur wasps ke males unfertilised eggs se develop hote hain aur haploid hote hain, isliye unke body cells mitosis se divide hote hain. Lower plants: Spirogyra ke haploid filaments, moss ka leafy gametophyte aur fern ka prothallus, sab haploid cells ke mitosis se grow karte hain.

    2. Higher (flowering) plants ke haploid cells jo divide nahi hote.

      Solution dikhao

Embryo sac ka egg cell aur synergids, male gametes, pollen grain ka vegetative cell aur teen megaspores jo degenerate ho jaate hain. Yeh sab haploid hain, lekin inmein se koi divide nahi hota.

  14. Short answerHardNCERT Exercises Q14

Ek drug S phase mein DNA replication ko poori tarah block kar deta hai. Kya culture mein ek cell phir bhi normal mitosis kar sakta hai? Samjhao.

    Solution dikhao

AnswerNahi. Replication ke bina baantne ke liye sister chromatids hi nahi honge.

Mitosis sirf isliye equational hai kyunki har chromosome mein do identical sister chromatids hote hain, har daughter ke liye ek. S mein replication ke bina har chromosome mein ek hi chromatid hoga, isliye anaphase mein alag karne ke liye kuch nahi hoga aur daughters ko poora set nahi mil paayega.

Cells M phase mein jaane se pehle yeh bhi check karte hain ki replication poora ho gaya hai, isliye blocked replication wala cell aam taur par division ki koshish karne ke bajaay interphase mein hi ruk jaata hai.

  15. Short answerMediumNCERT Exercises Q15

Kya cell ke divide hue bina DNA replicate ho sakta hai? Ek example do.

    Solution dikhao

    AnswerHaan.

Haan. Kuch cells mein bina kisi cell division ke DNA baar-baar replicate hota hai. Jaise fruit-fly larvae ke salivary-gland cells mein, bina division ke baar-baar replication se giant polytene chromosomes bante hain jinmein kai DNA strands agal-bagal hote hain. Kai liver cells mein bhi aakhir mein DNA ke extra sets hote hain.

Ek normal cycle mein bhi, jo cell S phase poora kar chuka hai usne divide hone se pehle apna DNA replicate kar liya hai, aur woh doubled DNA ke saath G2 mein ruk sakta hai.

  16. NumericalHardNCERT Exercises Q16

Rice mein 2n = 24 hai. Ek cell ke liye, har di gayi stage par chromosomes ka number (N) aur DNA content (C) batao.

    1. Interphase: G1, S ka end, G2.

      Solution dikhao

      G1: N = 24, 2C. S ka end: N = 24 (48 chromatids), 4C. G2: N = 24, 4C.

    2. Mitosis: metaphase, anaphase, har daughter cell.

      Solution dikhao

      Metaphase: N = 24, 4C. Anaphase: cell mein N = 48 (chromatids chromosomes ban gaye hain), 4C. Har daughter cell: N = 24, 2C.

    3. Meiosis I: pachytene, anaphase I, dyad ka har cell.

      Solution dikhao

      Pachytene: 12 bivalents, N = 24, 4C. Anaphase I: cell mein N = 24 (har pole ki taraf 12 ja rahe hain, har ek mein do chromatids), 4C. Har dyad cell: N = 12, 2C.

    4. Meiosis II: metaphase II, anaphase II, har final cell.

      Solution dikhao

      Metaphase II: N = 12, 2C. Anaphase II: cell mein N = 24 (centromeres split ho gaye hain), 2C. Tetrad ka har cell: N = 12, C.

  17. Quick answerMedium

Kis stage par cell mein 4C DNA, do-do chromatids wale 2n chromosomes, aur ek intact nuclear envelope hota hai?

    Answer dekho

    Answer (B) G2

G2 replication ke baad aata hai (4C, har chromosome mein do chromatids) jabki nucleus abhi bhi intact hota hai. G1 2C hai; metaphase par envelope toot chuka hota hai; anaphase par chromatids alag ho chuke hote hain.
  18. Quick answerMedium

Assertion (A): Meiosis II ko aksar equational division kaha jaata hai. Reason (R): Meiosis II mein sister chromatids alag hote hain, isliye har daughter mein utna hi chromosome number hota hai jitna meiosis II mein aane wale cell mein tha.

    Answer dekho

Answer (A) A aur R dono true hain, aur R, A ko explain karta hai

Dono statements true hain, aur sister chromatids ka alag hona (n → n) hi wajah hai ki meiosis II equational hai, jabki meiosis I reductional hai.
  19. Quick answerMedium

Assertion (A): S phase ke dauraan per cell DNA ki amount double ho jaati hai. Reason (R): S phase ke dauraan per cell chromosomes ka number double ho jaata hai.

    Answer dekho

Answer (C) A true hai lekin R false hai

S mein DNA 2C se 4C ho jaata hai, lekin chromosome number 2n hi rehta hai kyunki koi naye centromeres nahi bante. A true hai aur R false hai.
  20. Quick answerHard

Mitosis ke anaphase wale ek cell mein 36 chromosomes hain. Organism ka haploid number (n) kya hai?

    Answer dekho

    Answer 9

    Anaphase par cell mein 2 × 2n = 4n chromosomes hote hain, isliye 4n = 36, jisse 2n = 18 aur n = 9 milta hai.
